The article I chose to write my blog about this week is, “10
Cool Social Media Monitoring Tools” from The Brain Yard and was posted on August
11th, 2011. As you can tell by the name of the article it talked
about ten tools you and use to help monitor your social media sites and your
online reputation. The first tool is called, Facebook Insights. This is a free
service built into Facebook data on user interaction with your page. The second
tool is called HootSuite, which is a site that allows the user to monitor
multiple social networks from a single dashboard and create customer reports. The
next tool is called Klout and is designed to measure individual and brand
influence. The next two tools were social mention , which is a free site that
rates an individual or brand as they are mentioned and Raven Tools which uses
data from Social Metion to see links to your brands or a keywords mention with
a positive, neutral or negative rating to each mention. The sixth tool is
Sprout Socail and this site lets the user manage, monitor and track their existence
on social networking sites like: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The next tool
is called is similar to Facebook Insights but for Twitter and is called
Twitalyzer. This Twitalyzer is a dashboard on Twitter that measures the users
impact based on several factors. Another tool mentioned in the article is
called Unilyzer and this site develops a “Uniscore” which is the quality of
your social networking presence with data on quality of a social network and
referral rates. The next tool is the ultimate
way to track your social network reputation called Google Analytics. Google is
the top dog on the internet in all aspects and with Google Analytics you integrate
Google with your social network to see how your content is being shared on the web
through social interactions. The final tool is for Twitter users and is called
BackTweets. This was formally known as BackType and allows users to keep track
on their Tweets. All of the tools mentioned in this article made me realize how
important it is to keep track of your reputation on social networking sites. After
reading this article I am highly considering using tools such as Facebook
Insights, Social Mention and Raven Tools to keep track on my presence on social
networking sites to make sure I present a positive image for future employers.
