Facebook Insights
Facebook Insights provides data on user interaction with your Facebook page, demographics, and performance over time. Page administrators, application owners, and domain administrators are the only people who can view insights data for the properties they own or administer. The Insights program is a free service for all Facebook pages and Facebook applications and websites. The Social media monitoring tools are used to read between the lines. Some of the programs connect the dots and categorize the data for the administrators.  Two ways that administrators do this is Monitoring and listening. “Monitoring is a matter of gleaning hard data; listening is taking that data and looking at it over time through the lenses that are relevant for your company.
Collecting this data is essentially a way to trace what grasps consumers attention and what will potentially lead to some sort of transaction, it’s always about generating awareness and revenue. The companies that implement a Facebook insight application on the website are taking the information you provide by the information you type into status updates, conversation topics, and links that you have clicked on in the past. Internet market analysts have discovered a free and easy way to connect with the consumers and gather information by teaming up with a social media based website. And the whole process if free for them which is kind of unbelievable that they do not have to spend any money on market research and not much time either. They just have to set up the Insights program and sit back and wait to see what their target market wants based on the things that are said and done on the website. 24/7 coverage of the people you wish to sell your products or services to. In the past this would have been unrealistic because of how time consuming collecting customer feedback used to be, now it is as simple as reading a Facebook page were people unintentionally identify their wants and needs on a regular basis
