My name is Joe Lafortune and I am from Grosvenor Dale,
CT. It is a small town within Thompson,
CT and the first town over from the borders of Mass and CT. I am an accounting major here at Nichols
College and I commute from home. I am a
junior currently because I took a couple years off from school while I was working
full time. It is true what they say; to
get back into school after you take time off is one of the hardest things to
do.
I work as a carpenter for 1st Capitol
Construction every summer since high school.
I enjoy the work and absolutely love having a job that gets me weekends off
during the summer time. I also have a
part-time job with Sears in Putnam, CT that keeps me a steady income especially
throughout the school year. I am
currently trying to leave that job though because ever since I got a new
manager I haven’t enjoyed it nearly as much.
I drive a black Ford Ranger 2008 that I absolutely love
because it gets me the convenience of a truck with better gas mileage than a
heavy duty truck. Plus, when friends
want to go places I never have to drive because of the limited space in my
truck. Although to be honest I do want a
bigger truck that I can just mess around with in the woods and go mudding with.

I am in a pitch league held at the Valley Springs Sportsman’sClub. The first time I played in the
pitch league I came in 4th place with my teammate and the next
season, we finished 1st. There
are approximately 25 teams every season although it has been growing slightly
ever since it first started. I am also
in a pool league held at the Oxford VFW but that is just our home field and
half of our matches are away at other places between Worcester, Auburn, and
Oxford. I really enjoy these leagues
because it gets my mind off the day-to-day hectic things that occur in everyday
life.
Joe you seem pretty interesting i also drive a ford except mines a f150 and lifted but your truck is also nice
