Microsoft AX 2012

The article I choose to talk about today is the article from information weekly and in this article it talks about how Microsoft just released a product called the Dynamics AX 2012 and it is a type of product that many retailers will benefit from very much because not only is it an industry specific version for vendors flagship ERP system that is designed to elimate barriers that many realtors are held back by but it does a lot more like  it eliminates data silos by combining point of sales, inventory, supply chain, and financials into one application but you can customize it to your specific type of business whether it’s a vendor or a big chain store. Another thing it can do is give current economic conditions so then realtors can make it easier for customers to buy whether that’s in store or online or even by mobile device. So basically what this does is it makes it easier to monitor customer buying habits and behavior and have the ability to manage inventory across many channels so then you’re not stuck on one channel to work with. The AX 2012 for retail multichannel management capabilities ensure that promotions delivered through mobile devices or social channels will be recognized and redeemable through the in store POS system which would be similar to the option of ordering in store and have it shipped or same day pick up from a purchase online. Now I think that this new technology is one of the most innovative and creative and smartest things I have heard of coming out in a while because I think not only will it make shopping less of a nightmare for the customer whether it be online or in the store but I think it will also make it a lot easier for the company to keep up with the demands of their customers because now with this software they can keep track of inventory better but also they can sell more stuff to more people because now they have a much wider customer base.
