Mastercard Moving to the Future

Master Card, Visa two of the most prominent and sufficient credit cards America has in the arsenal of ways to waist money and get your credit bad. Sadly this article or blog isn’t about how bad credit cards are for you it is about Master Card and Visa moving U.S credit cards to Chip and Pin by 2013. MasterCard followed Visa's lead this week, stating that it too intends to move U.S. consumers onto so-called chip-and-PIN technology by April 2013. This is actually a really big deal when you think about it. The reason is that MasterCard said that it was working with acquirers to move the United States onto the so-called "EMV" standard, ensuring that the payment infrastructure would be in place by the deadline. The article had said that in August of 2011 Visa also put forward its own EMV timetable with April 2013 as the date by which its U.S acquirer processors and suv- processor service providers must support merchant transactions using chip based cards. This means that pretty much people are going to able to use their credit cards anywhere. The article went on and said that s any recent traveler to Europe knows, the continent is increasingly moving to the so-called "Chip and PIN" technology, where consumers slide in a credit card with an embedded security chip inside, then enter a 4-digit PIN. Putting U.S. credit-card payment technology onto the same technological footing, as other regions will mean fewer headaches for overseas travelers. MasterCard, like Visa, also said that it is preparing for a world where consumers will pay in stores, online, and via mobile device. The reason that this is relevant is that people will be able to go out of the country and be able to use their credit cars with out the hassle of all the problems that they usually face when they leave the country using their cards. The fact that it will make it easier for people or consumers to shop and pay n a way that best fits their needs and lifestyles with a simple tap click or touch in store online or on a mobile device makes it so much less complicated said Chris McWilton the president of Master card. This to me is a very efficient way to handle the whole credit card over seas and money planning ways. I honestly think it will work help the future of using a credit card.

  1. D-Rock93 I think that this will be extremely effective. I think that being able to use your credit card over seas or in another country would be useful and a huge TIME SAVOR for everyone. I know that in different countries they have different money systems but we all have bank accounts and bank numbers so it just needs to become one type of system globally so you are able to effectively remove money from your account from anywhere in the world. It is honestly dangerous to not be able to use your credit card in different countries what if it is all you have left and you have no means of money, it will really benefit so many people and I am glad that this issue is arising. I think this issue has been coming for a long time. Good job with this article, I am glad I opened it to read it.
