My article is from the CNN news website and it is titled “Mobile
users more vulnerable to e-mail phishing scams.” This article interested me
because many people have internet on their mobile devices and may be susceptible
to e mail phishing scams. Phishing is another more effective way of hacking
that many hackers use to create fake e mails and other viruses to mobile and
desk computers. This article states that the reason that mobile phone users are
more likely to run into these email scams is because they are on the internet
all the time and they tend to check their emails as soon as they receive them.
Desk top users can also be affected by these phishing scams but it is not as
common as mobile devices. The article states that you should never open an
email unless you are 100% sure that you are familiar with that email. These
phishing scams can ruin your device and take a lot of time to fix. Due to the
fact that these scams are popular among mobile devices makes it such a big
concern. Almost everyone has the internet on their phone and they need to be
informed of theses phishing scams. I do not have internet on my phone which can
be a good thing and a bad thing. At least my phone will be safe from these
scams but I still have my lap top to worry about. I thought this article would
help inform every one of these scams since many people have internet on their mobile
devices. These scams are hard to recognize but to stay safe you can avoid emails
you are not familiar with and by all means do not enter any personal
information in these emails if you do end up opening one of these scams. This
article relates to what we have gone over in class. Internet security is
crucial when using computers or phones. You have to be careful with what you
choose to enter into the internet and you have to be aware of all of these different
types of scams like viruses and phishing scams.
